I have written like Five different post and have trashed them all.. not because they were not good, just not what I was looking for.. What am I looking for you ask.. well heck if I knew that I would not have to write but one.
Raising kids is not an easy thing.. and I think all those silly books out there are just that silly. Come on people there is no manual .. let me amend that there is a manual the Bible. Other then that you are on your own.. No one tells you that it is or is not normal for your child to cover everything they eat with ketchup. Or that at some point they are gonna put all the food they refuse to eat down the toilet causing major flooding in your bathroom… There are no books to tell you when your brand new puppy goes missing that your child has put them in the toy box to keep safe… or at some point your child is going to take her lunch box and smack some kid over the head for bugging her.. and even take a bully and slam him into a poll! No these fine memories come from out of no where and will forever be etched on your brain.
On the same note there are no books that tell you when your child is gonna start telling you “I love you mommy your the best” or when you will start receiving wild onion flowers that make your whole house smell like onions.. or when the first time your child will attempt to make you her special Ketchup, ham, pickle and peanut butter sandwich and set there with the biggest eyes watching you try to keep it down. No these are the gifts you treasure in your heart forever.
To be honest I am glad there are no prewritten guides to warn us of these things.. It makes life more interesting and who does not love surprises.. My child surprises me all the time. In fact half the time I never know what is gonna come out of her mouth at any given moment. Can you imagine my shock the day she told the Doctor she had bad gas and that she got that from her mama! Ha ha ha talk about 50 shades of red! Yes my little rug rat is always a source of amazement and wonder. And just think I got all this and more with out the help of some book warning me.
I am sure there will be many.. many more first that are not written in books that I have to look forward to in my life as I watch and err try to guide this wonderful and spirited ball of love, into an upstanding and honorable women of God, who will one day have her own journey filled with these same kinds of joys and blessing.
So heres to all us parents who bravely stepped forward into the realm of parenthood, unaware and unprepared and survived and better yet relished every moment of it.
Truly hilarious! I almost fell out of my chair from laughing so hard…. Thank you for showing the humorous, gentle, slightly crazy thing we call this life, and showing the mighty hand of God, and His great love for us through it, too. Praise God for beautiful and wonderful people such as yourself who allow God to touch others through them. Blessings to you and yours, always.
Thank you Wayne for you ever so kind words… God bless you..
